Measures

Examples of energy efficient and environmental friendly purchasing are:
  • Vehicles:
Only vehicles are bought which have a low fuel consumption and can be operated with biofuels
Recently 8 new lift trucks were bought which are now fuelled by biofuels
A petrol station for biofuels was established on the company site
  • Lighting:
Presently halogen spots are exchanged and CFLS are used wherever possible
  • IT:
All PC were equipped with energy efficient monitors (TFT)
Additionally special attention is paid to stand-by consumption and training of staff (switching-off printers, etc.)

Success

  • All vehicles are using biofuels (biodiesel), the fuel is produced from the collected used cooking oil
  • 70% of the energy consumption of the headquarter in Wels is covered by biomass (350 kW wood chips heating plant)
  • There are plans to build a 120 kW CHP-plant which would be fuelled by used cooking oil. With the implementation of this CHP-plant, 100% of the energy consumption could be covered by renewable energy.
