Target

The label Environmentally friendly is used for the products, whose specific characteristics prove to be friendly to the environment. The industrial companies producing paintings and coverings created their own label, by which according to the internal standards they emphasise:
“Okolju prijazno” – the product is without lead and other heavy metals, inflammable and that its use and application are safer than traditional products (producer HELIOS, Ljubljana). The products contain very low amount of evaporative dissolving components and have no unpleasant odour.
“Okolju prijazno iz Belinke” – the product for protection of indoor wood is made on a water basis, has no organic dissolving components and no odour (producer BELINKA Medvode).

The label is used for paintings and coverings.

Awarding Institution & criteria

The label is issued by the producers according to their internal standard, recommendations for protection of the environment, based on the EU environmental standards and internationally recognised criteria.

Control mechanisms

Control in the industrial laboratory of the producer.

Relevance on the market

The labelling is voluntary, the labels are of national character. The label is well recognised in Slovenia and used among the consumers as one of the important element for the buying decision.
