Office Equipment
Introduction
Ofiice equipment like PCs or laptops, screens, printers, fax machines, phones, modems are necessary working equipment of different types of offices. The enrgy consumption of these equipment raised up in the last years mor and more. The use of such equipment is essential, but it is not necessary to increase the energy consumption in the same ways as in the last years.
To change the personal behaviour is one way to save energy (e. g. to pull down the screen when you are out in an meeting). The other way is to buy highly enegy efficient office equipment.
Energy lables gives you necessary information about the energy consumption of office equipment. So far, there is no obligation in Europe for office devices to fulfil criteria of energy label and also no obligation to label devices of the information and entertainment electronics. Despite this fact different energy labels for such equiment exist and you will find a lot of office equipment that is marked by energy labels.
The most important criteria and conditions for the label assignment can be read off in a label overview. The list gives a short overview about the labels in the respective topic as well as the comparison of the label characteristics.
