Public authority
The City of Münster is located in north-west of the state of North Rhine Westphalia. Münster is engaged in the Agenda 21 process for years and is running the Eco Audit process. In 2004, Münster received the LivCom Award 2004 and the title “World’s Most Liveable City” in the category from 250,000 to 700,000 inhabitants.

Procurement process
The procurement of office equipment is organised by a special unit, called “citeq”. This unit is responsible for the procurement of all PCs, monitors (screens) and printers for the administration of the city of Münster. Copy machines are leased for the whole administration.
Measures
Electricity: Since 2001 Münster is buying 500.000 kWh/year of electricity produced from renewable energy sources. This amout represents 1 % of the whole electricity consumption of the adminsitration. The green electricity fullfilles the criteria of the “Grüne-Strom-Label" (green-electricity-label).
Success
Every year Münster saves 298 tons of CO2 emissions because of the use of green electricity.
