National Experiences

Here you find description of national green procurement experience, which contribute to the climatic protection. The national rules based on the European Directives (Directive 2004/17/EC, Directive 2004/18/EC) are described.
In addition to the legal regulation the good practice examples give a more practically overview of the real implementation of green procurement. The examples shows exemplary measures in enterprises and administrations like the use of Green Electricity or the purchase of energy-efficient devices. Apart from the data about involved organisation and for the success of the pollution free procurement, you receive information contacts about experienced partners. Use the Good Practice examples as suggestion for your environmental friendly purchase.

The main fields of the published actions within this IEE project are efficient appliances. Each partner chooses sectors and examples based on a national/regional focus according to the discussion about the national/regional experiences.
For that, we will present the different national experiences and good practice examples in English and the national language of countries involved in this IEE project.

  • Information Technologies (IT) including PCs, monitors, printers, fax machines etc. as defined in the European Energy-Star-programme
  • Household appliances purchased e.g. by housing companies, purchasing groups or gas/electricity utilities (as defined in the EU label Directive)
  • These focus areas are completed by the following fields, for which in an adequate manner also energy labels exist, so that the general procedure of the main focus can be extended to totally other product groups:
  • Lighting in fields, in which energy or quality labels exists, which are mainly energy saving bulbs
  • Efficient respectively clean vehicles for public and private fleets
  • Building components (such as windows) and systems (such as heating and cooling systems)
  • Green Power generated from Renewable Energy Sources
