Building and Civil Engineering Institute ZRMK, l.t.d., Ljubljana, Slovenia, (short name BCEI ZRMK) is a daughter company of ZRMK Holding, j.s.c., founded in 2003 for R&D and consultancy in building and civil engineering. The company follows the tradition of the former Institute for testing and research in materials and structures (acronym ZRMK, Zavod za raziskavo materiala in konstrukcij), founded by the state in 1948. The company is focused on all fields concerning buildings and civil engineering, including energy efficiency, environmental issues, new technologies and materials, etc .

The most important clients include Slovenian ministries, governmental Agency of Efficient Use of Energy, municipalities, as well as individual clients facing energy related problems in buildings. BCEI ZRMK has been involved in various international IEE, FP 5, FP 6 projects, OPET-network, SAVE, Altener, PHARE, EUREKA, COPERNICUS, COST C5, C8, C16, and C23, ECOS/OUVERTURE, INCO, THERMIE, UNDP and other projects concerning thermal performance, energy efficiency of buildings and households, and sustainability issues.

BCEI ZRMK has good contacts with professional associations and chambers as well as relevant expertise to implement the proposed action in Slovenia.
